When the Doctor Gives you Lemons
To be more specific, the extract is called Bioflavonoid and it can be be found in many fruits including lemons, oranges, grapefruits, limes and bilberry to name only a few.
The side effect free treatment of many common ailments is being found in the skin of the much maligned lemon. When your doctor gives you lemons , say thank you.
When life gives you lemons, it is poor news.
What is so intriguing, is the reported successes of bioflavonoid as a treatment for a very diverse list of symptoms. Just a few of those are;
-Anti-inflammatory conditions such as Arthritis
-Pain relief from bruising
-As an anti-bacterial agent
-Treatment of cataracts
-Gout
Bilberry has long been a favorite in treating declining vision or sharpening night vision. The bioflavonoid extract from this fruit shows great promise in the treatment of conditions stemming from a week optic nerve and even cataracts.
Arthritis has long eluded a cure. Glucosamine has been the treatment of choice for the past few years however for must people the results have been less than satisfactory. New treatments for the inflamation include Hyaluronic acid and bioflavonoid.

If in fact a link to fungus is found, it may be the lowly extract of the lemon, once again to the rescue, as bioflavonoid is also used as an anti-fungal.
There really is no downside to treatment with bioflavonoid. Pills are always easy to take, and are certainly a cost effective option. The most enjoyable way to ingest bioflavonoid is by eating dark chocolate. Not only is dark chocolate rich in antioxidants it also has a significant concentration of bioflavonoid. Now for me, dark chocolate is always the treatment for whatever the problem is.
Most bioflavonoid or lipoflavonoid pills are made from the lemon skin. It is a potent source and inexpensive. The lemon is no longer just a sour fruit, it is becoming a medical superstar
