Have you ever stopped to think about mass media and what it has become in America? The vast majority of news stories on TV and in newspapers have death, violence, controversey, big names, sex, etc., etc., etc. Aside from any differences anyone may have with Michael Moore, he makes an excellent point in “Bowling for Columbine”, his famous documentary. He talks about the media in America and how it’s geared toward creating fear the hearts and minds of our citizens.
There is a great newspaper chain in London called the Local Independend who has recently adopted a policy of only spreading good news. What a great idea. A couple of years ago I was thinking of this for a TV channel, like an upbeat and positive version of CNN, and I will do it some day.
The point I’m leading up to is that in our 1,000 + people that contact Narconon Arrowhead every week for some type of drug-related help or information, I end up taking several calls from major and minor media personnel about various stories. One specific reporter questioned me about a statement released by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, saying that early marijuana use can
I couldn’t believe it! I very clearly stated that was not the case. It was irritating and pathetic at the same time.
I guess the only way to get your message across is to write it yourself or appear live so it is uncut.
One way or the other and despite false reporting, Narconon Arrowhead is continuing to reduce drug use through effective drug prevention and rehabilitation.
