Tamiflu: The First Line of Defense

Tamiflu, which requires a prescription, can be used both to treat the flu whether taken soon after symptoms seem, or to prevent the flu. Tamiflu, whose common scientific name is oseltamivir, is part of a

family of flu fighting medicines called neuraminidase inhibitors. Tamilflu is used in the treatment of infections caused by both the influenza A and influenza B viruses.
