Don’t concern, Your Pee experiment Records Are Safe With Us!
But to add insult to injury, there was an incident recently in which a box of confidential student drug examining records — which included names, social protection numbers, and experiment results — was left sitting out on a sidewalk in Texas.
An employee of a drug evaluating firm took the box home and next quit without bringing the box back. The company was just like, “Yeah, it’s not our policy to let records out of the office.” Well, duh. (Perhaps quitting was not the best view after all!)
1) I can’t believe there hasn’t been a bigger news uproar
You can read a short commentary about the incident here. The records ended up out on the sidewalk when the person was evicted from their home. Not only was it confidential knowledge, but it was confidential data about minors.
2) Do drug evaluating companies get vetted for protection when school districts contract with them? Student drug checking is already a big intrusion into an aspect of life that should be within young humans and parents.
