Depression Is Real Coalition launches weekly audio-casts

The Depression Is Real Coalition has launched a new weekly Net audio-cast titled, “The Down & Up Show.” The purpose of the show is to supply timely and authoritative knowledge about depression, a serious biological illness that affects nearly everyone in some way. Each show features top-level guests discussing the latest medical research, current policy issues, news and events impacted by depression plus personal perspectives from folks who have faced and overcome depression.

“The Down & Up Show” is sponsored by

the seven member organizations of the Depression Is Real Coalition — American Psychiatric Foundation, National Alliance on Mental Illness, League of United Latin American Citizens, National Medical organization, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, Mental Health America and National Urban League — and builds on the public service advertising campaign the Coalition produced late in 2006.

Housed on the Coalition’s Web site, and available on iTunes, a new episode of “The Down & Up Show” will be available every Thursday.
